It was in 1950 that Alfred Karcher presented his first entry into cleaning technology with the DS 350 steam blaster, the first hot-water pressure washer. There has been no looking back as is evident by the fact that Karcher has presented three worldwide advancements for end consumers alone since 2008; without a doubt one of their best contributions being the world's quietest models, K 3.00 and K 4.00.
The Karcher lines of residential or consumer washers can be broken into five main categories:
Electric - Entry Class
Machines in this group generally have an operating pressure of 1600 PSI with a water volume of 1.25 gal/minute. Their maximum inlet water temperature is 104 degrees Farenheit and they range in weight, without accessories, from approximately thirteen to fifteen pounds. Standard equipment on all models includes trigger guns, high pressure hoses, vario-power spray lances and fine mesh water filters. These are hard working machines at an affordable price.
Electric - Medium Class
This line includes upgrades such as large wheels and detergent tanks. They have an operating pressure of 1800 PSI and water volume of 1.5 gallons per minute. The maximum inlet water temperature is the same 104 degrees Farenheit but they are considerably heavier, averaging about thirty pounds before accessories.
Electric - Premium Class
The K 5 class of pressure washers has a high operating pressure of 2000 PSI. Several of these also come with high pressure hose reels in addition to the standard accessories. These are the most durable electric pressure washers for the home.
Powered by a strong lithium ion battery, this is the ideal solution for those on the go jobs. As no electricity or gas is required and weighing just over 14 pounds, a hybrid machine is the ultimate in flexibility.
Gas Pressure Washers
Karcher gas pressure washers range from 2,600 to 4,000 PSI and use the same technology as their commercial line. The G 4000 OH Servo Press is Karcher's most powerful residential washer and sports a 390 cc Honda GX engine. Weighing 122 pounds and with a 3.6 gallons per minute water volume, this workhorse will easily and quickly take on any of those larger cleaning projects such as driveways or decks. All Karcher gas washers come standard with high pressure hoses, commercial grade Trigger guns with child safety locks and commercial grade zinc-plated spray wands with quick connect adapters.
